February – a fabulous month so far!

Our first event in February with Kate Bateman was a resounding success and yet another sold out event!  Kate talked about her books and the links to her other job as auctioneer, and antiques expert & the co-founder of Batemans Auctioneers in Stamford. Kate’s historical romance books all have links to real events in history, and in many cases history is as unexpected and surprising as fiction.

I also ventured to Peterborough Museum mid February, to visit a wonderful new exhibition on it’s launch day. The new exhibition invites visitors to step into ‘The Wonderful World of the Ladybird Book Artists’.  It is really well worth a visit and brought back many childhood memories.

Our next event at the end of February has also reached it’s capacity audience, and I await with anticipation the chance to hear the conversation between author, Tom Newton Dunn, and his interviewer and friend, Alistair Sherwin. They will be talking about the climbing legend George Mallory, his life, his climbing and especially the three Everest Expeditions he was a part of – 1921, 1922 and the last in 1924.

Thank you for your interest and for supporting our events. Helen:  Founder and Director of Authors in Oundle.
