I made the most of a sunny weekend by attending the Althorp Literary Festival on Friday evening to see an exclusive live recording of The Rabbit Hole Detectives podcast – (the very last episode sadly). Featuring long-time friends Richard Coles, Cat Jarman and Charles Spencer. This was a very entertaining episode that concludes a two-year run of this podcast. Previous episodes can be heard by following this link: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-rabbit-hole-detectives/id1671879772. It was wonderful to meet the authors at the book signing of the lovely book that accompanies the series.
On Saturday 12th, I returned to Althorp, very excited to see David Mitchell, comedian, actor, and writer. He didn’t disappoint, with a rousing waltz through his book, Unruly; in which David tells the founding story of post-Roman England: a tale of narcissists, inadequate self-control, excessive beheadings, uncivil wars, and at least one total Cnut. How did we survive so many inadequate monarchs? Another book following on from Elizabeth 1st is on the cards! David and his wife Victoria were a pleasure to meet after the event.
Coming up in just under a couple of weeks is our event with Wendy Joseph, who will be talking with Karen Daber about her latest book, Rough Justice. Looking forward to a dynamic and interesting interview.
Best Wishes to you all for a very Happy Easter. Helen: Founder and Director of Authors in Oundle.
